The Oconee Chamber of Commerce's 36th Annual Fall Festival will be held Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rocket Field behind the Eagle Tavern in Watkinsville.

The chamber is renting craft and food booth spaces. Anyone interested should contact the chamber office at (706) 769-7947.
The chamber also is recruiting volunteers with the event. Any chamber member interested should contact Julia Estess by e-mail at jestess@occoc.org to sign up.
The annual festival includes daylong music, crafts, arts, food vendors and activities for children.
Surviving a divorce
Briarwood Baptist Church, 1900 Robinhood Road, is hosting Divorce Care, a special weekly support group and seminar for those who are separated or divorced.
The group will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 13.
A combination of videos, support group and biblical teachings dealing with issues such as finding help, facing anger, depression, financial survival and caring for children is planned.
The program is nondenominational, and child care is provided.
The registration fee is $25, but some scholarships are available.

Council meetings set at Oconee High
The Oconee County High School Council has set dates for its four meetings during the 2009-10 school year. The meetings will be held at noon in the high school's conference room on Sept. 15, Dec. 8, Feb. 16 and April 27.
Get fresh veggies while season holds
The Oconee Farmers' Market is continuing to offer a full line of summer vegetables, fruits and homemade pastry goods at its location behind the Eagle Tavern on South Main Street.
Karl Berg, coordinator for the market, said poundcakes, banana bread, pies - including blueberry, peach and pear - along with breads, fresh eggs and fresh milk from Johnston Dairy are available. Other items include blueberries, peaches, jams, grass-fed beef, tomatoes, okra, eggplant, green onions, sweet onions, cucumbers, potatoes and several kinds of squash.
The market begins by 8 a.m. and usually finishes about noon.
St. Mary's offers fitness boot camps
Chad Woodall, fitness coordinator at St. Mary's Wellness Center and 2007 World Grip Champion, will hold high-intensity fitness boot camps this fall for adults.
The Outdoor Boot Camps will begin Oct. 5 and meet for two months on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:30 to 6:30 a.m.
Participants will use the equipment and grounds of St. Mary's Wellness Center, located in The Exchange at 2470 Daniells Bridge Road, just off Georgia Highway 316 between the Athens Perimeter and the Oconee Connector.
The class is open to anyone age 18 or older; Wellness Center membership is not required. Boot camp enrollment is $100 per month, and sessions meet rain or shine.
